I bought Leica Geovid Pros last month during their sale. it put the Leica's at the same price as these Revics and I preferred the ergonomics of the Leica. I would've bought Revics for sure at this $1000 off price. They've torched the resale value for now. Great sale though.

The only thing holding me back from the revics is glass quality.

I’m in the market for new binos and I’m having a hard time convincing myself to get anything other than alpha glass.

I spotted and watched elk at up to 2 miles this year, glassed for hours, zero issues. Killing my bull this year, these were what allowed it to happen with legal light fading and moving animals (through oak brush) at 600-800 yards.

Granted I like my Meopta Bino glass slightly better.

If a new design happens at $3k, I’d still buy these at $1600, but I’m “frugal” so there’s that.

I’m really playing with the idea of Revics and pairing them with either the swaro atc or Kowa. Those spotters have a big enough fov to do general glassing. It would be a good lightweight combo for my style.

Exactly what we did for 2nd half of hunt this year. I glassed off tripod w Binos, find animals and swap to spotter see what’s what.

I only have an 80mm spotter, for what I’m doing/looking for I think one of the small spotters would be plenty.

My experience with the Revics was vastly different than yours. My guide was spotting bulls and counting points at a mile or so away with his old Swaro EL Range whereas some of them I couldn’t even tell were bulls.

Mine will be gone as soon as they get back from Gunwerks. I bought them on an impulse buy and with the issues I had and now this, they will be gone and I won’t be buying another pair no matter what the price is.

These have been a huge disappointment for me.

Yeah I’m just going to keep mine around. It’s unfortunate you had issues with yours. I’m not a fan of the glass either, but they’ve been a great ranging tool for me. Worth keeping for me. But I can’t use them as my main bino for most hunts.

What are you considering testing out next?

What are the limits of the swaro el range in comparison to the revic? Does it work in super cold weather? Range to 1200 in poor conditions? Give a solution quickly?

My brand new pair of EL Range TA’s wouldn’t range the shady side of a large tree at 1200 yards in perfect conditions.

After I returned them, I was told I should have tried another batter. Of course that didn’t cross my mind, since the battery I put in was brand new lol.

Revic will hit shit over 3000 yards. They aren’t even comparable in ranging distance. I never did get to test the swaros in different environmentals though. Like through rain/snow/fog.

Revic ranges through a decent amount of scenarios, but still has its limitations. I haven’t used one that doesn’t. If it’s too foggy, you’re not getting a range.

This morning I could see my target well enough at 783 yards to shoot it, but couldn’t get a range on it once the fogged moved in.

I ranged it prior so I knew the distance. It was hard to see when I broke the shot, but I could make it out well enough. Binos would not range it in those conditions

It’s just so odd to hear such vastly different views on the glass. When someone is talking about swaro, Zeiss, etc the descriptions are never so at odds.

Is it a sample variation? What’s the issue?

I’ve had two pairs and my hunting partner has had 2 pairs. We both feel the exact same way about them. We both bought them and sold them. Stuck with our BR4’s for 2023 season. And then re-bought them again for 2024 season. All 4 pairs identical optically (or at least felt that way). Basically it was a can’t live with them, can’t live without them type thing lol. We both just carry NL pures in our pack lids. Spot check with Revics, actually glass with NL’s. Also mostly hunt mule deer.

This is one of several personal messages I got after talking openly about them. It’s not a preference thing. It’s just the way they are. If you’re used to good glass behind a tripod, and then use these, you’ll likely notice it also.

Considering the Leica 10x42 AB+ Pro since I’ve had such a good experience with my Leica 3500.com handheld RF. Also considering the Vectronix Vector 12x42 DMR.

I was/am considering the Sig 10k Gen 2 but I’m afraid I’ll be disappointed in the glass like the Revics.

Truthfully my Vortex 10x42 UHD is significantly better glass than the Revics.

I don’t care to carry 2 pair of binos. If I was going to do that I would just upgrade my 3500.COM hand held to the PRO model and keep my current setup in binos.

If glass is priority but still a great calculator and ranging ability, I have to imagine the Leica will be excellent. I probably won’t fork up the cash to test the new one. But even they’re older ones were great at ranging and the image was great as well.

I’m not sure how intuitive it is with the wind inputs and what not. I wouldn’t like to have to have my phone paired in order to use that function. That would be the only downside to them I can see. I’ve just really become accustomed to putting the wind in directly with the buttons on the rangefinder manually now.

Thanks for that.

Do you feel like you would miss spotting deer while glassing with the revics compared to el, pure, sf’s, etc? In other words, is it just a clarity/contrast difference or is the image of the revics worse enough that you might miss animals while glassing?

I really want to go with ranging binos but not if it might cost spotting a bedded buck in the shade to begin with.

Without trying to sound all douchey, I’m 100% confident I would see more deer (DEER specifically, elk are easy as **** to see) with a pair of 10 NL’s than a pair of 10 BLR’s.

Maybe I got a good pair, or maybe I just haven’t spent a lot of time behind alpha glass. Not saying the glass is the greatest, but certainly more than adequate for my purposes and the increased speed in spot/range/shoot time is a big deal to me. Nit picking terrain apart there are better options, that’s where I’d want bigger glass anyway.

I’m looking for big yellow school buses, so def easier to see.
