Anyone compare the glass of the Gen 2 to the first model? I am seeing a bunch of gen 1s for sale.

All it says is that it is Alpha glass and a better engine. Just seeing if anyone compared them side by side?
Are there not multiple first hand accounts in that thread via posts of users side by side? Maybe I linked the wrong one sorry.

In order of image/pleasance of view from left to right, and about the differences between them-

(Leica Geovid, Revic Gen2, Revic gen1, Vector).

If I'm moving from a pair of Vortex Viper HD 12x42s to a pair of used Gen 1 Revic's - What clarity differences am I gaining? (in addition to range finding).

Thanks Form, I guess my question would be is the gen1 at $1500 used giving that much up to the eye and view compared to the $3000 gen2?

It depends. If you are very picky with glass, you will probably want a bit better than the Gen1’s, whereas the Gen 2’s that I have seen cross over into good enough even for picky users it seems. $1,500 for the Gen 1’s is a very good option.

These days I find my priorities for hunting funny. I used to spend my money on rifle glass and accessories and get whatever range finding binos I could get from vortex. Now I shoot SWFA rifle glass and spend all my money on binos.

I’m looking forward to my delivery of the Revics

@Formidilosus did you have any info on the Gen2 aim point? I thought the Gen1 was a 1 mil box, don't have any idea what the new one is. Maybe 1 mil wide and .5 mil tall?

So does this make the br10 the apex rangefinding bino if you also want ballistics?
I was told the new Swaro 12x42s are pretty epic for hunting, but range is limited to 2000 yds. If you need more than that, the revics are the choice. They have a stronger laser. I am leaning towards the new Swaros.

Anyone have any details on how to use the Raypoint Drop feature? I tried it this week while Archery Elk, but no offline maps. Not really sure how this works???

Are you talking about the EL ta's?

Are the Revics easy to put the ballistic's in? Asking because I am technically handicapped. My Zeiss take me for ever :sneaky:

If you can operate a ballistic solver app then yes it’s easy.

Put in the ballistics (BC, velocity, scope ht, etc) in the app, connect the bino, hit sync, done
