Remote Job for Wife

My kids are now to the age they are all in school and my wife is wanted to go back to work part time while they are in school to help make some money with savings, activities, etc. Not financially critical that she has a job, but she would like to contribute to the family. On social media many “influencers” talk about that there are often online/remote jobs at various big companies (Amazon, Dell, Apple, Disney, etc). Has anybody ever done one of these things and it actually panned out?

Are there other places people would suggest that she looks? She wants something flexible where maybe she could work as much or as little as she would like. She only has an AA so not an overly marketable degree.
Nor is any degree worth much. Don’t sell her short. Insurance is another good option. Wives of friends do it here. They make roughly $20/hour on average. Not bad money at all working from home. But, you’ll likely not find an employer happy about work when she wants criteria though.

Good luck.

If she is comfortable talking to people on the phone and can use MS Office, there are lots of sales/recruiting/lead generation jobs done remotely. And if she doesn't like talking/emailing people, there are administrative resources that support those positions (reporting, scheduling, document creation, etc).

The doers can make close to $200K after paying their dues (years of experience), and the admins/coordinators below them make anywhere from $30-60K (full time pay).

I doordashed in the Pullman Moscow area for about two months last summer and I made about 2500 bucks just doing it in the evenings. Probably made about 20 bucks an hour. It’s not the best way to make money but it bought me some new optics 😁 Pullman is the busiest DoorDash area in the US.

One of my wife’s friends has a payroll company and my wife started helping her out. Mostly as a favor because business is very good right now. She does it in the evenings once the kids go to bed with a glass of wine.

How did that work for we site building? Do you need to give them passwords, etc for your hosting site? Always wondered how that worked with random folks around the world.
Like brn2hnt mention, you can give them levels of access typically. I did most of it myself, and only needed a couple things done. It wasn't too difficult with all of the templates they have now. You can also filter to find only people in the US and english speaking.

Not remote work but a good option is looking at being a teachers aid (not sure what they call them now) at the local school. Usually part time, flexible days, and you work the same schedule as your kids are in school. Summers and weekends off.
Para-professional I think is the term they use now. Or just para for short.

There's all sorts of job websites to check. Be cautious for scams. There's companies she can go to that pair up people and firms looking for employees and work. The person technically works for the headhunter for 90 days or something. The company I work for has hired quite a few people that way.

At the end of the day I think we all forget how to look for new jobs. Put a post on Facebook asking friends. Go to a company's website and look at their jobs available. Call the home office of a company she thinks might be cool and ask.
