Does anyone else think reheated wild game (Deer, elk, antelope) is disgusting? I can make a meal that is delicious, but then if I reheat it a day later, I can't hardly tolerate it. I have to eat game cold if I'm going to have it as leftovers. Something about reheating it makes it super gamey. Does anyone else experience this, or have any solutions?

Cast iron. Get it smoking hot. Drop in some high temp oil like avocado and some butter. As soon as butter melts, it’ll start to brown, drop in meat. Sear one side, flip and sear the other. Try to heat without cooking to well done. I’d rather keep closer to medium and have it be warm in the middle than have it hot and well done in the middle.

I don’t care for antelope burps after eating jerky, or reheating naked game, so try to overpower any gamey taste with new something. Sauté some new onions for that steak, mix in a fresh can of cream of mushroom soup with that sage chicken.

Mainly we grew up without leftovers - making a huge amount of stuff at once to sit in the fridge isn’t the answer.

I’ve never had an issue with reheating leftover game. Definitely use a cast iron and try not to cook it more, just make it not cold anymore.

Certain meats being sliced thin sre harder to not reheat while overcooking so I usually dice up a good portion and mix it in scrambled eggs or make tacos/burritos with it.

I just usually eat leftover game meat cold, quick easy snack, or cut it up small and make sandwiches

I think the way to do it if you have a lot of leftovers is use a souse vide and heat it back up that way. I think everyone who eats a lot of game meat should have one, they are custom made for game steaks

I keep it simple, thaw steaks, season and tenderize with the spring loaded tenderizer, and then cut up a cube of butter, put it back in the chamber sealer, and then in the souse vide at 115* for 4hrs and sear. You can get the internal temperature way higher than ideal (like 160) and it still won’t dry out… heat it back up the same way, maybe add a little butter or olive oil and I bet it would be like fresh cooked
