Reasonable Priced 7mm PRC

Have been wanting to get something that has a little more ammo avalibility than my 300 WSM.
The 300 WSM wont be going anywhere as it was a gift from a friend and I have 2 one being a Super Grade gun.
I want something I can use from here at home for whitetail to out west for Elk.
With some reading here the 7mm PRC seems to fit the bill pretty well and with the popularity of it ammo avalibility is much better than my 300 WSM.

I know a lot og guys here are high end type people, Buy once cry once type.
Which I do understand. I just can not justify spending $3k-$4k on the rifle alone then have to scope it also. I already have a scope ready that is a Lupold VX6.

The gun I am leaning toward is a Browning XBolt.
I know the Tikkas Get rave reviews here but they dont offer the 7mmPRC yet.
If I was to go to 6.5PRC I would be going Tikka.

Just looking for some thoughts and opinions from you all that have more experience than me with this caliber and also with the Browning as well.

I have my eyes on an XBolt 7PRC suppressor ready for 2024 unless Tikka comes out with their version. I'm primarily a Western elk and mule deer hunter.

I’m really trying to hold out for a Tikka 7PRC, otherwise I’m gonna have to build one off a Tikka action. I’d love their Super Varmint in 7PRC with a Proof 22” barrel.

This is what I did but ended up just over $1500. Tikka stainless donor, bartlein blank and gunsmithing put me closer to $1600. I’d take a bartlein barreled tikka over most any stock rifles in that price range within the tikkas cartridge length limitations anyway.

Super smooth action, shorter degree bolt lift, great stock trigger, accurate factory barrels, ok factory stock, lefty configurations available which is important to myself

A few solid factory cartridge options, otherwise great platform for an aftermarket barrel and stock

I've had a few Browning's, between my dad and buddy they've had 6 more, all were shooters.

I just finished a Tikka 7prc build as well. I ended up spending quite a bit more then $1500 though. That was mostly my fault for getting a different stock, and a proof research barrel. If you go this route then you can find a lot of good deals on items for the build on the classifieds on here.

The Browning x bolt is hard to beat, just have to add a trigger spring and it's good to go. Tikka would have more aftermarket support, you could rebarrel easier and have a semi custom build.

I like it a lot. I really like my Iota stock. I don't see them talked about as much as other options. With a 22" proof research barrel, Talley rings and nightforce SHV 3-10 it comes in at 8 lbs 3 ounces. That was without the can on it. It shoots Hornady and Norma bondstrike really well. The recoil with the suppressor really isn't bad at all. My wife shoots it just fine and she's a small woman. I'm hoping I get a shot at something with it for 3rd season rifle.

It was a bitch to get the factory barrel off.

That looks damn nice. You running factory mag/bottom metal?
Looking at the Iotas and they look good as well, and price is competitive. Was leaning towards the 22" Proof myself to run a Scythe or Tbac on it.

Thanks. Yes sir, I stuck with the factory mag and bottom metal. It was a t3x lite blued 300 WM. I never shot it. Just bought it and took that barrel off. The 22" barrel seems like a good compromise.
