Reaper or the new OG 30 ?

I see they offer a og hd and og 30.
Why ?
Why would you not want the og30,its lighter and quieter .

We kept the OG 30 HD aka the old OG30 on there incase we decide to do something with it. But obviously the new one came out for a reason so the HD might stay discontinued. We will see what happens. Some people want a heavier duty version but not many from what I can tell. I just brought this up yesterday.

Because the OG “HD” is a very good can in its own right. It is one of the “boomiest” sounding cans on the market, and does very well with down range signature.
Despite a few vocal people on here- in every single S2H class after a couple of days of shooting- we ask the students to point out the loudest can on the line- not one class have the students said the OG’s were the loudest cans on the line. Not once. Most of the cans have covers- no one knows or cares which can is which.

It’s was a serious question because I’m looking at one or maybe a new reaper for a 308.
But if there basically the same thing with one being quiter and lighter that to me is a no brainer.
Now if one is made for heavier use or specific use than I get it ,that is why I ask.
Have you done any comparisons video of them,if so missed it.
Thanks

The OG30 is 2oz lighter than the OG30 HD, 3 dB(A) quieter, is still able to be used on 16” barreled 300rum, and semi automatics, and does have a hollow sound still. For most users the OG30 will be a better can. It is as good as any 6” and most 7” muzzle forward cans in dB, and sounds better.

@Cory_Shoot2Hunt any idea when we could expect to see the specs of the Reaper Reflex options. Was going to pick up the existing 6" reaper but intrigued by the 4" with reflex. Just not sure if saving 2 inches by going with the 4" will offset the added weight of the reflex compared to the existing 6" muzzle forward Reaper.

I bet they’re dang near the same performance the 6in without the reflex and the 4in with reflex. I’ll know more later more specs. I’d bet weight is within 1-1.5oz as well. But the 4in will be 6.5 bore.

Thanks for that info, will have to get the 6" as i'm looking for one that i can run on other guns other than my 6.5.

Since the reflex is still "in development" and printing makes changes way easier.

Drop the bevel on the reflex addition...you're making it look like an after thought versus designed that way. I'm excited and have been waiting to see how this reflex Reaper works itself to market before pulling the trigger on another 30 can...the bevel/after thought look is making me rethink my decision.

My unsolicited opine ;)
