Real world fuel mileage

2017 Ford F150 2.7 Ecoboost (crew cab, short box, topper) stock suspension.
Everyday == 19-20ish
Highway 70mph or less = 22
Interstate 80mph = 18-19
I'm truly disappointed in the mileage compared to many of the other Ecoboost trucks posted and wish I would have purchased the 5.0 or 3.5.
Are you running stock tires and wheels as well? Extra weight knocks that MPG down quite a bit. Buddy of mine has a 2.7 that we took on a hunting trip and it was getting nearly 26 MPG on the highway completely stock.

2017 Nissan Titan XD Pro4x with the Cummins, best I’ve got is 21.8mpg

Mixed avg is 17.4mpg

Only hwy driving I usual get 19-20mpg and if there is a headwind 18mpg.

Towing a camper, with a headwind or not, I get 11mpg.

Hyundai Elantra I get 36mpg mixed driving.

Thinking hard about deleting the emissions at the next check engine light. Anyone else done this on their diesel, and how to you like it now?

I deleted mine 6 months after I bought it new, zero regrets, haven’t had a single day at the dealer in 27k miles. Just installed a 50gal tank and Fass fuel pump. I have PPEI’s tunes.

Yes bone stock. I hate the stock wheels (20inchers) and they will be swapped to either 17 or 18" so I can run better rubber

Wonder if just the 20's are heavier than the 18's I have on my '16 and '18 XLT Crew cab, long box 3.5 ecoboosts.

Plenty of other things that impact it like rear differential gear ratio. Assuming that since you have 20's you likely have other options that make the truck heavier (leather, full powered passenger seat, sunroof, etc).

19-20 towing: loaded 12ft uhaul, flatbed with small tractor.

I am a putter. The diesels really match my kind of driving.

I agree on tires with some of the above posters....I like 18" rims way better than the 20" rims....F150 and F350. I also ordered the F150 with 3.31 rear gears for highway driving...lower cruising RPMs and maybe a bit better mileage. The 3.31s are still fine with the 6 speed on the logging roads where I use the truck versus the quad or RZR. I typically don't tow heavy trailers or I would have gotten 3.55s (like my F350).

I was hoping someone had the new F-150 with the 3.0L diesel...anyone?

I'm in the market for a truck...the Tundra has been bulletproof...but 7 years and its time. Great truck, but they haven't done much since I bought the 2012.

Its between the Ram 5.7 E Torque and the Ford 3.5 v6. The Ford is the leader MPG wise...but that E Torque is pretty slick. Ford seems to be about $4k more for comparable models.

I like the mileage on these 2...but will level it and put a little more of a Offroad tire which will kill the mileage by about 1.5 to 2 MPG. No big lift as I need to get in underground parking fairly regularly so I have to keep it under 6'8".

2018 4Runner with 3in lift, 33s and roof rack gets 15-16 both in town and on the highway, doesn't matter.

2015 ram 1500 crew cab, 5.7hemi 3:21 8speed stock except for KO2s 14-15 in town and 18-20 highway depending on conditions.

No lighter over all packaged. Why the trucks keep getting bigger rims. My wife’s suburban came with 22’s. Changed her suburban and my 250 to 18”. Aluminum is lighter then rubber. Mileage has gone down but ride quality with increases in proportion to rim decrease and tire sidewall increase

This comes at a good time. Looking for a diesel towing vehicle and a toy hauler kinda simultaneously. The Ram's sure post some attractice numbers. Are any years or features better than others? Im gonna definitely do some research.

Right now I'm running a '17 Colorado Crew with Cooper AT tires, V6.

I average 18-19 around town and 20-22 on the highway.

For my style of hunting I'm seriously considering trading it in on a Subaru.

If I could get 10mpg more it would make traveling for hunting/fishing more affordable, along with my 56 mile round trip commute to work daily, I'd stand to have a good bit more money in the bank for hunting and trips. Most of my hunting these days revolves around driving to a trailhead with my pack, weapon, boots and a cooler and jumping off from there. I don't load up whole animals into the back of my truck, rather they're quartered and go into a cooler so that eliminates the need for a bed. For the occasion that I run a bigger camp or need to haul something(typical dump runs or picking up stuff from lowes/home depot) I will buy a little utility trailer to go with it. I've seen, youtube and otherwise, what some of them will do and honestly they'll go further than I'd be willing to go in my truck.

I have a co worker that has a Jetta TDI diesel that gets 42 mpg average. He said a full 16 gallon tank of fuel will read over 750 miles till empty at times. Always thought they would be a bad ass hunting rig if you could rig up a hitch for a cooler and find a way to strap a rack on the roof. 😅

2016 ram eco diesel. it got 28mpg with stock size 33s, it now gets 24 with 35s and 18 with my camper on.

13-14.5 - 60-75
drove from NW MT to SW WA at 75 and got 13.5 mpg
drove from SW WA to NW MT at 62-65 and got 14.5. not worth slowing down 😂

98 subaru forester 2.5L 5speed manual. 205,000 miles
19-21 70-75mph
22-23 65-70mph

people love to say how good of MPG Subarus get... haven't seen it yet...
