real weight of Kimber Hunter?

stock is very solid; it's a honeycomb reinforced design- the overall dimensions work for me, the pad might be a little thick (especially on a 6.5)

aluminum pillars

not my photo

I think this thread is focused on Kimbers - As far as I know Tikka hasn't stepped into the 6.5 CM but they've done the .260 Rem in a few models, just not the superlight ...... yet I hope
Meant to say basically I've been looking at these and tikkas and leaning towards a 6.5 etc etc.

^ 22" (1:8 RH for the 6.5) slim barrel obviously- similar to my Featherweight

And the actions/barrels are identical to the 84s. The only difference in them is the stock and the barrels on the Hunter aren't threaded.

My Hunter in 6.5 with a Zeiss HD5 weighs 6.9lbs. Its a shooter. it didnt like the factory Hornady Ammo, but it likes hand loads. It shoots 129 Accubond LRs sub MOA out to 750 yards @ 2770 fps. I though about bedding it, but I dont want to mess with a good thing.

What powder is working best for you? Thanks

Are the feed lips on the mags themselves? Thought I read this in the last couple days. If so I really never like to put all of the responsibility on a magazine.
Please give us a range report when you can, snow just flew last night, probably have 6+" here on Flathead lake.

snow here too 5-6" and counting in town, guessing the mountains have double or triple that

my understanding is that the Hunter shares the exact same action as the Montana, so I'm thinking the Hunter relies on both the rails and the magazine lips

someone please correct me if I'm wrong

I'm holding one in my hands - it would appear to me the lips are in the magazine but I'm studying it more closely now
