Since nobody commented on my above post... I'll ask again.
Has anyone tried the Hammock Gear Burrow 20 quilt? Seems to be much more reasonably priced than other quilt options since they come standard with treated 850 down. Weight is slightly less than the EE 750 duck down quilts but at similar pricing, but when you compare to EE's 850 treated down the Hammock Gear Burrow is substantially less expensive.
I'm looking at my quilt options, and this appears to be worth a look. Any information would be helpful.

They look pretty good. I haven't seen one in person yet though.
EE has tons of good reviews for a reason. The price on the hammockgear is pretty nice but the folks that have EE are paying the extra for a reason.
Perhaps, but I don't want to just assume. I've read only good reviews on both products, but there's a substantial price difference between them. Seems there are very few people who have ever actually handled more than one brand of quilt... so I tend to believe EE has simply done a better job marketing their product.
Lets put it this way, up until a week ago I would have bought an EE just simply because I didn't know other options were out there. I suspect there are a lot of people in the same boat.

That's a very valid point and your comments have made me do a bit more searching myself. EE may be an outstanding product but you are correct in that I have seen very few side by side comparisons and hammockgear or flight jacket might be just as good but cheaper. Now you've got my attention.
Anyone else have issues getting the specs page to load correctly on the EE Underquilt pages? I just get some note about the "details Published by Google Drive". Maybe I've got issues with my browser, but I don't see any specs. Be nice to compare their weights.

I'm also looking for others who have ventured beyond EE. As much as I like his quilts, for almost 100 less ill have extra money for more crap I probably don't need!

I'm in the market for an underquilt for my hammock and the companies I'm looking at are:

Underground Quilts
Additionally, Warbonnet and Clark (hammock makers) have some underquilts and or liners that I'll look at too.
I'm sure there may be more companies that make quilts (I'm using my ZPack bag more like a quilt with it unzipped beneath me), but these are the ones I've found that specifically have underquilts.

I have heard very good things about Warbonnet UQ's, he is using some type of waterproof down for all of his down quilts not sure what kind the price stayed the same for him.
I have been extremely satisfied with my EE Revx although I am wishing I had the new design instead of the karo baffles.

Go to www.hammockforums.net There is alot of info on their stuff their. Browse the classifieds for used quilts. THe Incubator UQ is quite popular on that site. Edit: And if you sign up as a member and ask any questions leave out hat you are using it for hunting purposes and you will get more/better answers.

Extremely pleased with how my Zpacks Quilt has performed in all types of weather and temperature. A Most excellent product!! My regular style, down and synthetic bags, get no use since acquiring a 20F/-7C 16.5 oz Zpack bag. If missing the hood on your old bag, Zpacks sells the Goose Hood. At 1.3 oz and so warm I recommend it only be worn on the coldest nights.
I am new here but felt like I should pitch in on this. I just bought a quilt and in fact have not received it yet. Mine is a 20 degree EE long.
My thoughts are use sleeping bags for base camp but when venturing out pack the quilt. Lighter, more versatile, I will already be packing a puffy and a beanie. I may as well lose a pound or two. (for more stuff I don't need)

I unzipped my WM the other day and laid it out. If i dont zip it up and crawl under it on a pad stuffing my feet in the foot box, is that essentially a quilt? Maybe a bit wider?

Just picked up an EE from the classifieds here. Its badass, to say the least. 30 degree deal. Sold a 20 deg cats meow and 40 deg marmot. This thing weighs 1.6# and compresses to the size of a football. Can't wait to get some nights under it, but as a side sleeper, my initial impression is sleeping bags are old school.
For extreme temps, who knows. I believe EE makes a 2# 0 degree one as well.
