Question on Gratuity

Tipping is weird in our culture. What we tip for and what we don't...I get it, I worked my way through college on tips waiting tables. I have hunted a pretty expensive duck hunting operation a few times and we tipped the guide. When it was the owner we didn't but others did. I'd much rather pay for the service up front. I don't like the ambiguity.

I’ve personally never been on a guided hunt so I don’t know how much people are spending on these guides, but I feel if the guide is well compensated then a tip shouldn’t be necessary. But again, if that’s the way of the beast then I’d suggest tipping. This is an interesting topic. When I was young, and worked for other companies I got tips all the time. Now that I work for myself I just get referrals, haha.
