Question for those that use four fletch?

What degree to do you guys use that do four fletch on your arrows, 75x105 or 90x90 degrees, and why? Getting ready to fletch a dozen arrows with the four fletch technique and wanted to get your opinions beforehand. Thanks

Forgot to add I'm using Vanetec Superspine 3" vanes so clearance with my Trophy Taker Smackdown Pro will not be an issue either way

silent knight 200's at 90 degrees with 3 degrees helical. done with an arizona mini... not the easiest but uber clean, rediculously tight. i do it to the 90 because i like symmetry and it gives me more options to rotate the arrow for better conformity. and i've never tried 75x105........

I go with 90* because they fly from my rest must easier and don't interfere with it. I use a flipper type rest on my Hoyt recurve and it allows for a clean break from the bow. I also haven't seen any 75x105 broadheads so it is much easier for me to align my 90x90 broadhead with my 90x90 vanes.

90 for me too, this year it's with AAE PRO MAX vanes but I've used plenty of others...Just easier to do nock tuning adjustments this way.

75/105 with FF 360's for me but I guess I'm in the minority. I can nock my arrow without looking and its going to be the same either way. I'm sure 90 gets that for you also but have just never messed with 90. Oh and I don't worry about lining up my blades and fletch never had a problem controlling a BH once I went with 4 fletch.

That is a perfect vane for 4 fletching. I have the exact same set up on GT 55/75 Pro's and all broadheads fly awesome. I use the 75/105, but I think it is all personal preference. If you go to a higher profile vane like a Blazer or AAE Maxhunter, 4 fletching will actually inhibit your arrow flight. They will essentially catch too much wind, and try to "cross steer" the arrow from the back. These vanes are already designed with a high enough profile that they shouldn't need to be 4 fletched. The lower profile vanes like Duravanes and Vanetecs are perfect for the four fletch scenario.

Not true at all... I've shot 4 fletch Blazers & 4 fletch AAE MaxHunters a lot in the past and they fly great and steer broadheads awesome.

It is overkill to 4 fletch high profile vanes. Those same arrows will fly great with the same set up and 3 fletch!

Well...for fear of turning this into a piss'n match...I agree with J-Daddy. Though I use 2.0 FF Silent Knights. I've tested a lot of different combinations and a lot of different vanes, and the current combination works better than most and equal to others...also seems a touch more forgiving at times. Whatever "cross steering" is, I can't say I have experienced it with my arrows...they hit where I want them, when I do my job.

I guess it's an issue with blanket statements...

Only reason I switched was when I went to FMJ I was having FOC issues with the 4 fletch and wraps. So I ditched the extra fletch and wraps. If your having doubts about if you should go 4 fletch, then do a test. Fletch up three arrows with 4 fletch, slap a BH on and do a comparison starting at 20 yards and work back.

Ya I could see them hitting lower because of more drag. At least you didn't go all in and refletch all your arrows and then find out you didn't like them.

Exactly. I tested a bunch of stuff. Still need to fletch em all up.

I did the same and I stick to the 3 fletch 3* R helical best results for me

I've been shooting 4 fletch forever. 4, 4 inch duravanes. You are correct, they will start to drop due to drag. Since I'm not a long range shooter, this has never been a concern for me. I'm not the greatest tuning person and 4 fletch has always stabilized my arrows very well. I'm one of those don't fix it if it isn't broken types.
