I recently ordered the OMP Phoenix fletching jig to replace my Bitzenburger. Since there isn’t much info out there about them, I figured I’d do a quick thread about it. If you want more info or pics let me know!

It comes packaged really nicely. Setup instructions are clear and easy to follow. It only took about 3 minutes to get everything installed and ready to fletch. The built in platform is very nice.

I went with a straight clamp as this has 5° (left or right) of offset adjustability built into the stand. It only takes a simple turn on a lockdown knob to adjust the offset degree.

The clamp/magnet is very strong. The nock receiver adjustment is very crisp. Similar to a Bitz you have 120°, 90°, and 75°x125°.

The adjustment to center the fletch base to the center of the arrow shaft is serviceable. One of those things once you set it for the correct diameter arrows it’s good to go so that’s a nonfactor in my eyes.

All in all I’m very excited to put it to use and it should be a worthy replacement to my Bitzenburger that I had for almost 12 years haha
I saw Bill V dropped some new colors of his vanes… looks like I’m gonna need to build some new arrows!

That looks like a nice setup.
Did you just want a change from the Bitz or were you not getting good results from the Bitz?

I got one at Christmas. Seems good so far. I did put an elastic band on the front with a toothpick to stretch out and stick in the end of the shaft. Holds the arrow nocked tight to the back.

I see no difference in the straight to helical clamp as I bought both. Maybe it’s just me.

I got good enough results. I got tired of having to hold clamp/vane to the arrow to get perfect adhesion. Maybe this jig won’t even solve it but I figured it was worth a shot!

Good idea! I was thinking of something similar.
Hmm that’s interesting about the helical clamp.

The reviews I saw stated since the magnet is stronger than the bitz that you shouldn't need to hold it down. Hopefully this holds true.

That’s my hopes and main reason for buying! I’ll let you know

I've run a Bit, Vane Master Pro, AZ easy and Jo Jann jigs. This is better than all of them. My only complaint is lack of inventory, especially helical clamps. I still can't source a lh helical clamps.

Ive only used this and the AZ easy. I like the process more than the AZ easy because its much more adjustable obviously. It does however put much less helical on the vane than the AZ easy does.

I have a straight clamp and a helical clamp. The helical clamp ends up about half way between the straight and the AZ easy fletch.

Big fan of my OMP jig and right helical. Works great. I did the bungee mod with a sharpie cap to keep my arrow seated. If anyone needs a helical clamp I can check my local pro shop. I was there last weekend and they had several right/left helical clamps in stock. I'm happy to help anyone out and send you one, just reimburse me or give you their contact info. They don't have an online store but might be willing to ship, not sure.

If you could please tell me the name of your store and I'll reach out to them directly to see if they will ship me one. I have been looking for months now and everyone is sold out. Thanks in advance

Thank you sir, I will reach out to them when they open up and see if they will ship. If not I got a good friend lives right down the road that would go pick it up for me. Thanks again

Do you guys have a photo of that bungee / sharpie top mod?
