Q&A for Minox ZP5 5-25x56mm THLR scope

Used mine in a match this weekend. I really like it and I now feel comfortable offloading the bushy xrs3 it replaced. Glass is pretty great.
I shot a bunch this weekend. I'm getting used to the dots for holdovers between 0-300. The half mil hold still feels awkward with the thin box lines. Also playing with the 5x zoom and the german #4 hold on the bottom of a deers belly/shoulder crease.

Yeah, i got the mr4 for a gamer scope and I'm glad I did. I can see the appeal of the THLR for a field scope though.

lop on your Rokstok?

I haven’t been able to mount mine yet due to the rings going back to UM as part of the gen 1- gen2 transition.
14", no spacers...I installed a 1" grind to fit pad.

I keep forgetting there's another option. I was THLR or nothing.

Good to hear - and the XRS3 was no slouch. I think that was from the end times when Bushnell had the engineers that Form has mentioned, who ensured reliability on the Tactical Elite lines ... the XRS3 was pretty underrated, I reckon. I've kept mine on an ELR rig - but only because I didn't move fast enough on a ZP5 with the MR4 reticle ...

I finally had time to unbox mine, and did a quick verification of setting the diopter while I held the scope, then verifying that the parallax was now actually working correctly. It was, took a whole minute and a half. So that's a plus. How these scopes left their factory like they originally did is beyond me. I have the QC card that was signed by someone. Maybe they need more training. 🤷‍♂️

So today I mounted the scope on my 20" Tikka Roughtech 243 with a Stocky's VG stock, and then verified the diopter setting. Much easier to do while the scope is mounted and in a lead sled. It needed a little adjustment so marked that spot and started over again with it turned all the way in. Re-verified and it ended up in the exact same spot. So I'm confident now that it's set right. Locked it down and then put the eyepiece cover back on it.

Now wanting to go shoot, but after months of warm dry weather, we're now getting a week of cold and wet. But that's OK, I need to load up more test rounds of the 107gr and 116gr TMK's.
