PVA Taperless Tikka Pre-fit weights

What kind of weight does it seem the flutes are saving in these? Currently debating if that’s worth it on a steel barrel…..

PVA qhoted me 3 oz in what I was putting together.

PBB told me fluting saves 4oz in their barrel They quoted me 2.8 -3lbss on the same 24 in 6 cm Tikka prefit (before fluting) in a hybrid lite contour. Just sharing as I wrote all this down when looking at options

I might have to get one of those sometime. My 22" 243 fluted factory Tikka barrel I just got is 2lb 14oz. I think it's a d18 contour . I'd like yours at about 20" I think

That d18 contour is pretty sweet IMO, especially in a shorter barrel.

Oh yeah I like it. Just wish it was a bit lighter as my guns now over 9 lbs with the suppressor and I usually do a lot of still hunting with gun in hand. It's not one of the cerakoted ones and it's factory 5/8 threaded at 22"so I'm not sure what model it came off of.

after first cleaning at 20 rds and after 40 rounds im at 2970 avg with factory 108s. happy with accuracy

Awesome! That's exactly what they told me it'd weigh when I called the other day. I believe he said a 5 spiral flute would save another two ounces or so.

I threw in an extra hundred and got it in about 2 weeks. It’s an option when building your order. Hoping it’s a shooter!

33.4oz on my scale for a 18" 6cm, .68" taperless, no flutes.

2lbs nearly exact. Appears to be perfect factory contour match (like they used to advertise).

Now should I spiral flute it for funzies and maybe 3oz savings! Shoot it first of course.

So safe to say .68 taperless and factory are nearly identical (.67” at the shoulder on mine).

You also saved about 0.6oz with the difference between 6mm and 22cal. So your barrel in 22CM would be about 32.6oz, just for comparison.

I'm going to do the same thing with the fluting. Going to make sure its a shooter and then aggressively flute it and cerakote it.
