Puffy-over or under shell?

Do you wear your puffy jacket over or under your shell?

I do both. Mostly depends on rain. But if I bust out my shell it goes over the puffy usually

Shell over puffy. Its function is to block wind and retain heat. Not sure how effective the setup would be with things reversed. Just make sure the shell doesn’t compress the puffy too much.

Another vote for shell or wind proof layer on outside with puffy underneath.

Maybe I sound dumb but I don't ever see insulation on the outside of a building, it's behind a hard shell like siding/plywood lol sound logic, no?

I don't think any of my puffy's would be comfortable/fit over my shell. Really the only time I have my puffy under my shell is if I am sitting and glassing, if its windy or raining while hiking I will just have my shell on.

Also, my puffy's are not that durable, the risk of a rip is to high for me to have on exterior while hiking.
