We were only allowed a one week time period during the rut in Illinois as non residents on the tract of public we hunted, and the 3 years I killed, it took me an average of 4 days. The other year, we drew the worst of the 4 one week time periods and the corn was still in, saw one shooter the entire week on the second day but he wouldn't stop for a shot. If you count the scouting time, that was usually a 3 day trip in February and then a 3 day trip in October; so factor that in as you like.
