A customer reached out for a custom bag to run on their pack for shooting. My partner is working off it for a prototype to release soon.

It weighs about 3 ounces and is about the size of our 2-5 Ultralight, but twice as fat. It will come in the different fill densities, loose, standard and stuffed.

It comes with straps for the pack, designed for shooting prone off the pack. We are also going to release the SSS Pillow with “pack loops”

Any design thoughts?

I got a Triple S from a member on the classifieds and it has become my new favorite rear bag. When combined with a Mini Ultralight, you have a lot of adjustment for almost any angle.

Once upon a time I sewed some different ideas for a pack bag like that to shoot off of, but I kept being drawn to make it a storage bag for fleece and whatnot and when crammed with clothing turned into something like an over stuffed pillow looking thing. Eventually it morphed into a compression stuff sack of sorts, then morphed into simply two vertical straps about 8” apart to lash down rolled up jackets sort of bedroll style. It will be fun to see what you come up with - every backpack hunter thinks about this a lot.

Edit: Picked up one of these Carhartt kids backpacks to keep on a pack at the range to give it some extra thickness. It’s just a basic cordura bag like a storage pocket, but it looks nice and is easy to strap onto a larger pack.

Looks like a good setup for some quick prone shooting - I need to do something like this with my pack

Looks good.

I was wondering when you were going to put something out that is more like the mollinator. Huge market gap right now on that being absent. Even the old version of the mollinator is not ideal without the new vertical straps they put on it right before it disappeared.

May we send an SSS pillow back for the loops for a fee?

Agreed, I use it a ton. The changes @hereinaz is making to it have me purchasing another.

The reason I asked for a photo of this side-by-side with the Triple S is because I can’t imagine it doing a better job.

The nice thing about the triple S is its versatility.

We discussed this exact topic back in March. Getting something a little more “multi purpose” out of a pack “rest bag”.

If Stephen is too busy to add loops hit me up.

I may be in the minority, but it would be awesome to have the EXO female buckles attached so you could just buckle right to the side straps and use it to cinch stuff down, or I will go even further to say the bottom should be molle compatible so it can be attached to the crib panel as well.
