I'm not sure the average resident in any state actually has a say in how their wildlife is managed.
In theory your point is valid.
I would disagree with this, look at the CO OTC changes this past year. (maybe not a can of worms I should open but i'm going to). Their original proposal was to do away with ALL OTC archery tags but residents came out in force and spoke their opinions at commission meetings. Hours and hours of public comment from hunters and residents expressing their opinions and CPW listened and ultimately changed their stance bc their responsibility is to the residents of the state. say what you want about CPW but the reaction and response there was pretty clear that residents did have a say.

Also nothing stopping non residents from calling into commission meetings and voicing their opinion. Which despite the numbers on NR vs R tag counts in CO, that same balance sure didn't show in the commission meetings...

I'll kick back a little here and watch my Wyoming brethren after our turn on an earlier (and still ongoing) thread :D

I'd like to see them hit the hikers, bikers, campers, fisherman for once. It's ALWAYS the NR hunter. I see the points made by the residents also. My state gets pounded during turkey season, and it gets annoying. I can also say 100% that I have never been a D--k to any of them. I have helped many also. I do not own these turkeys. Better enjoy what we have now fellows because it's ALL going to the ways of " The kings Deer" eventually.

To the guys proposing the increase, do you have kids? Cause it's sad to think most of them won't get to experience the things we are if this continues.

I'm ok with some increase, but why; what is the logic and data supporting it, and why is it needed? An increase 300-400% is ridiculous. Is it for a conservation project? Maybe people woudl get behind that, but we know thats not it. It's probably "because they can" or for a new multi-million dollar office that isn't needed. There needs to be more conservation efforts on a lot of fronts, but none of this money is going to that.
