I can't agree more, being a resident of Colorado. The out-of-state influx has ruined hunting as we have known it in many units. Can't count the number of times I've been approached by an out of state Hunter, comes wandering through asking for directions. I'm sure nobody here from out of state would do that. However those are the folks to thank for the increasing fees and changing regulations. Out of state folks are going to to pay to play and bitching about it is rather ironic.

I lived in North Carolina for a year, and out of state tag was for six deer and two turkeys as I hadn't established residency by the time hunting season came around. $200. If six deer and two turkeys for 200 bucks isn't a deal, I don't know what is. In the grand scheme folks don't realize the issues they are causing for themselves down the line by jumping on the bandwagon and coming out west. Stay at home and get good at hunting the game in your state, just like I've gotten good at the game I'm hunting in my state. Or just don't complain.

Some of these comments are insane. I'm not sure that some people know that wildlife is held in trust for the residents of that particular state. The are not held in trust for NRs of another state. Hunting a state you don't live in is a luxury and a privilege not a right. You have no entitlement to the wildlife of a state you don't live in. If you have a complaint about how wildlife is managed in your state and or fees, more power to you. If you're complaining about another state, then you better pack up your chit and move to that state or just suck it up and consider yourself luck that the state provides opportunity at all the NRs.

I try to stay out of these threads cause after seeing them on repeat year after year with the same arguments on both sides. You quickly realize they solve nothing.

But since u asked.

Believe Res should be entitled to the largest share of the pie, and pay less than NRes.

But to constantly nickle and dime the hunter/fisherman which have carried the task of conservation for decades. Grows old.

All to increase the coffers of a bloated gov agency.

Hikers, bikers, birdwatchers all impact wildlife to a degree. The agency's need to find alternative revenue streams or figure out how better utilize their available budgets. (Wishfull thinking right).

I just don't think we want to go down the road of who ever has the most money. Gets to partake in God's creation.

This has been pointed out a few times in the thread. But they just keep finding ways to increase costs without actually having to provide anything in return.

In a thread going on just like this one right now, residents are complaining because people are moving in and residents can’t afford the housing now.

Non residents are complaining because of price increases.

Everyone is complaining.

There is definitely a domino effect. Make it so enticing to be a resident of XYZ compared to non res. So people move. It’s not like there are a surplus of houses so new housing gets built.

Houses aren’t getting built on summer range. And a lot of people that are moving in have more money than the residents. Now the kids can’t afford to live there so mom and dad are complaining about the “rich people moving in”.

When most posts by residents sound like yours. “If you don’t like it move there.”

In the end that will equate to less animals and more places that aren’t affordable for residents to live.

Keep beating that drum though.
