@House21 there’s a thread started recently about zero check tracking, sounds like a good candidate to contribute too as well

Perfect! This is a great idea, I’m not overly confident it’s going to pass, but am going to go into this with an open mind and no bias towards it.

Hopefully be able to start this in the next week or two, still have 2 elk tags to fill and because of a stupid accident (own fault) this fall was pretty much a write off lol. Will keep everyone updated as it moves along

Man, I had several VX5s and VX6 HDs. I thought the glass and low light performance was spectacular. I travel all over the country to hunt and my zero kept wandering. Every time I got to my destination I had to check my zero and make adjustments. If you look back far enough you will see I defended Leupold religiously. Had to eat some crow and now all my rifles wear nightforce and trijicon.

It’s an unsure face because I thought your comment was funny but not sure if the thread got better. Since then it’s kinda rode the fence between locker room razing and a bar fight waiting to happen.
At least it's not borderline of two drunk guys wanting to wrestle in a oil bath.

Sighted in today, went perfect and the turrets tracked as it should for that, but holy shit the windage turret is ******* trash! There’s no way in hell I could turn that on feel alone. From bottom dot to top dot was only 8” so dialed 8 moa shot, then dialed back to 0 for 5 shot each and they ended up being 8.511” instead of 8.376” which isn’t near as bad as I was expecting. No dropping today but that’s the part I’m looking forward to

That’s a good looking rifle. The x bolt 2 speed 6.5 prc is on the short list for my next rifle.
I’m impressed with it, my last three 10 shot groups have all been under 1 moa. I think you’ll be happy with it.

Also fairly easy to stay on target after the shot, which surprised me a little being that it’s a 7 PRC.

I’m currently hunting with a ca ridgeline 7 prc 24” with a vx5 he 3x15x56. With the ca side baffel brake I watched him drop like a rock Sunday morning.

I have two Vx5's the first one, no issues, both turrets are reasonably crisp. My new one the windage turret was pure mush so I sent it to Leupold, will be interesting to see what they say about it

That’s like this one, probably the worst turret I’ve ever felt. The elevation is better and you can feel those just not very audible.

But as mushy and horrible as that windage turret is, it did adjust perfectly.
