Because it's not what's best. It's which of those that he already owns should he keep.I don't see where I can vote for the actual best cartridge, the one and only greatest ever .270 Win

Level set with everyone. This is not a best cartridge of your choice I am asking. I am asking about the cartridges I own because I am looking at downsizing. I mainly hunt ground blinds and tree stands in NC, where field shots can be to 300 or further. I still have it in my mind to do one elk and mule deer hunt for my late son, before I can't. Which is rolling in close with my health issues. I am not looking to buy another cartridge or build another rifle. Thanks.
Thanks. I have this poll and the same on Hunttalk and 6.5 CM seems to be ruling the day so far and it does not hurt my feelings. I have a Bergara B-14 Square Crest and absolutely love that little rifle. Super accurate with 130 TGKs over H-4350.I'm partial to the 7-08, but the 6.5cm is basically the same thing, especially at those ranges and will have slightly less recoil.
Suppress either of those and go hunt anything you listed.
Thank you.Sorry to hear about the loss of your son man, that's pretty rough.
Given that they're all so capable...did your son think any one of them or one of those rifles was particularly awesome?

You should edit the OP to be more clear.Level set with everyone. This is not a best cartridge of your choice I am asking. I am asking about the cartridges I own because I am looking at downsizing. Well, it is pretty clear but folks don't read the entire description sometimes. Bullet format is about as clear as it gets. You should edit the OP to be more clear.
The question to the poll is, "What would be your choice for a single hunting cartridge based on the listed conditions?"Well, it is pretty clear but folks don't read the entire description sometimes. Bullet format is about as clear as it gets.
Implied with "single hunting cartridge" with the other factors being the primary factors for the decision. If it hung you up that bad, sorry man. If you just want to vote for 243, you don't have to participate. The question to the poll is, "What would be your choice for a single hunting cartridge based on the listed conditions?"
Not, "I'm selling all but one of these, which should I keep?"
6.5 CM would be my first choice based on your details.Level set with everyone. This is not a best cartridge of your choice I am asking. Looking like folks are tagging it across the board and much smarter people than I am. I will let this go for a bit for the discussion, but I will probably be putting those other calibers and reloading equipment up for sale in the near future. Thanks.6.5 CM would be my first choice based on your details.
