Not my biggest bull by a long way, but one of the most memorable hunts I'll ever have. Throughfare with my dad. The bears were closer and coming towards us at first and it was pretty tense for a bit. Wasn't pointing my camera at them to start either lol.
Great pictures by everyone. Love seeing working stock.

Most of my hunts consist of a ride in and a walk out with the meat. Here is a cow from this year.

Just a curiosity note- why do some of you pack out the lower legs. I've always bobbed the legs off at the joint as well as the head at the process site. It keeps the load more compact with less loose ends to catch on limbs and fewer things I have to dispose of at the house.

mcr-85 -- One of my early horses was born a chessnut. By the time she was three she was a blue roan. At ten she was a red roan. At 21 she was mostly white with red freckles. When I put her down at 24 she was mostly white.

My wife's foster father told me that if you breed to a gray they will evolve like this.

i have left the leg whole when i have extra deep panniers and want to tie legs to the bucks.

Thanks. When I use pack saddles I use deckers so that helps.

For some reason i forget about this thread, but it's really the only one i like! This is my general tag bull from the fall. I don't usually pack them sideways, but in this scenario with him being a rather narrow bull and having the entire elk on the pack horse, and my camp and gear on my saddle horse, it packed really well.
