Few things finally went right this year. 4 elk quarters on each horse and neck meat from both elk on the grey so I tried a mantie and hitch to hold it. About the third time and a few miles later finally got it to hold.
Pic to revive the thread with new photos! Not loaded exactly but this horses first sniff of an elk quarter. Hoping to see some pictures of Day Hunts on horseback/mules. This was just a riding saddle with the panniers thrown over it to walk out 2 spikes. Planning to day hunt/scout this year and need some ideas. This is my wife’s roping/barrels/trail/ mounted shooting horse so he’s well rounded and very hard to startle.
We packed this bull out by hand, was only about 200 yards off the road. But practice loading meat onto these 4 year old mares and leading around my property for practice for next fall. Learning to load by yourself takes time.
