Who has been to PheasantFest? Who knows good dinner around Kansas City Convention Center?

I had some flight vouchers and hotel points, so I am headed out to this on Friday and Saturday. Pretty excited...

We went the last time it was in KC. Seems like maybe 6-8 years ago? It was a good time but we didn't attend any of the evening events, so can't comment on those. We are really excited that it is back in KC and will absolutely be attending this year!

As far as eating, there's all sorts of places. The Majestic is a good steakhouse within walking distance of the show and it's good. Pretty spendy though. Piropos is really good, but I have only gone there once, as I just found out about it. Rack of lamb was awesome. There are plenty of sports bars with food in the area.

Been to PFest a few times. Fun and tons of vendors to check out. Lots of habitat info and seminars. Do a preread of the agenda as there is so much that you have to plan your trip or you will miss stuff.

This probably sounds dumb. But are people selling items in the booths? All my trade show experience has been in manufacturing and those are strictly look only type deals.

Yep for sure. Dig out the hidden money in your sock drawer and bring it along. Just in case!

Why is nobody recommending BBQ?
Because none of the notable BBQ places are within walking distance of the KC convention center. I guess Arthur Bryant’s is the closest but for the most part they are scattered around the 60 wide metro area. There are actually a lot of good restaurants within a mile or so of the convention center but it’s more your urban foodie scene than typical KC barbecue institutions like Gates/Bryants/Joes/Jack Stack.

Depends on the business...but generally most clothing/gear business are selling.

Our chapter board members are headed down for the weekend. Went last year and a few years ago when it was in Omaha. If you like upland hunting it's a good time. I usually park myself at some of the different stages throughout the day. There are usually quite a few decent speakers/presentations throughout the day. It's worth looking at the agenda and seeing which you might want to listen to. A lot of gear companies will have stuff to sell. Lots of dogs to see, with several breed organizations there. Most gun manufacturers are there, so it's a good chance to get hands on a lot of different guns. We went to the concert and the upland rally last year, both were pretty good events.

Found some lesser known (to me) breeds.

Got to fondle and talk to the Weatherby folks about the Orion SxS and for one ordered.

CZ had discontinued the upland ultralight all-terrain for about 2 years, but are bringing it back. Cerakoted, aluminum receiver, and magnets that hold the shells are interesting.

The long awaited Browning A5 20ga will be on shelves this April.

Chief Upland has a neat pullover (Uplander) that has pit zips, light fleece interior on the front, pass through and top load kangaroo pocket, and is a blend of nylon and poly panels.

Caesar Guerinni has two off shoot companies in Fabarms and Syren. I've been looking forward to handling the Elos o/u because of how svelte the round body action is. Syren is women specific stocks, but Syren and Fabarms share all other components.

If I had the money, I'd buy an Elos in a heartbeat.
