Percussion cap improvements

Instead of using those terrible, ill fitting caps you make with the 22reloader percussion cap maker, im going with 3d printed caps that are 100% waterproof and will not fall off.

You can use the prime all compound or H48 " non corrosive!" And enjoy your range time without tapping into your expensive, hard to find store bought caps.

Shot over 20 of them yesterday, good strong ignition, clean burning.

Sure won't use them at rendezvous but for hunting and personal range time, it's a go!


Dark compound is the prime all compound, light color is H48.

Yeah they work but they don't hold on well. That's what drove us to 3d printed caps.

Ah, that makes sense. So the same chemicals in a 3d printed cap?

Correct. The end of the cap has to be printed thicker so you don't punch through.

Perfect. Thank you for the information. I do have a bunch of #10 and #11's but do not want to break into them if there is an alternative to "play with". I am finishing up a Hawkin's build and the hammer is tight, so the extra thickness will certainly help.

Are these durable enough to be re-used or do they kinda blow up same as any other cap?

They Crack down the side. One time use. Just too much pressure coming out of the nipple for it to hold up to.
