Peak 44 Bastion Pad Adapter

My LOP is about right for me, so I don't really need an adapter. Other than to change the recoil pad I guess (which isn't a bad idea). But here are the measurements on mine.

I'd love to change out the pad, but dont want more LOP. Excellent idea here, I had something simialr in mind when I first got the Bastion.

The short LOP is whst has kept me from trying one of these stocks.

Nice to see you have came up with a solution. Following along here.

Yeah, with the adapter shortened about 1/4” from what I have on my rifle (did this for another member), you can really only add a 3/4” thick pad or so to get to the same LOP as the stock setup.

I can start sending them any time now, just not 100% sure they’ll be perfectly flush at the bottom edge since the profile may be slightly different from stock to stock. What I did on the second one I sent out was to add .5mm all around and then it was just sanded to fit flush.

I’m game to try… just let me know what you need.

So you can keep oem LOP if I use say a 1/2" thick pacameyer 500B pad?

Yeah you should, at least within a couple millimeters. Here’s the stock pad:

Shortened the adapter to have a 3mm thick base at the top and bottom and made a mockup of the pachmayr:

Here’s the difference between the two, the gray is the stock pad and the white is the pachmayr:

For the adapter, here’s the info I would need:

1. Current length of pull from the stock pad, and the measurement from the rearmost edge of the carbon fiber stock to the trigger face:

Don’t need to take the pad off obviously, but the best baseline dimension to start from.

2. Recoil pad you plan on using. Grind to fit is really the only option for these unfortunately. I’ve imported a lot of templates to see how they’d work with the peak profile and unfortunately they don’t come close enough to blend them together. Really the only info I’d need is the thickness of the pad and the hole spacing. I used the cervelatti microcell pad for the weight which worked perfectly, and in the meantime I’ve been tweaking the 3-d printed version to improve the recoil reduction and grip (85a TPU with variable infill from the base of the pad to the rear face for those interested):

3. Desired LOP. Just gives me the thickness at the base needed.

Thanks!
