I personally do not believe those cleaning patch results. I have a supply of swiss and it's just as filthy as goex, especially after using a damp swabbing patch. Only swiss creates a sticky fouling ring at the bottom of the breech.

Yeah I've seen no difference between Swiss and goex either. My cleaning routine has also evolved to be more rigorous, but that's largely been driven by a need to store muzzleloaders for a full year at a time.

Swiss has definitely been cleaner in my experience but I am surprised Form is having as much trouble with the goex fowling up as he has shown here. It sounds more reminiscent of my experience with schutzen. I only shoot 3f though and I would bet the 2f is dirtier.

I have never seen anyone shoot both swiss and goex and not say swiss is the superior powder. I have seen multiple say that the benefits were not worth the price difference to them, but they all admitted swiss was better and they would shoot it if price wasn't an option.

I can say that swiss in all 6 of my guns haw been by far, the worst accuracy I've ever dealt with. Nasty sticky fouling at the breech. Swiss told me to lower my charge to 20gr 2fg/3fg lol. I told them, if I shot a deer or elk with that charge, they'll just laugh at me. A terrible powder to load by volume too. Too much graphite in it, making it super slick and inconsistent in a volume measure. Sure it's powerful stuff, but the inconsistent measuring, sticky fouling, terrible accuracy. I'll never waste my money again.

Are you positive you were not shooting schuetzen? Made by same folks but blue packaging instead of red.

How much swiss have you shot? Any idea of lot #/production dates? Were the seals on the cans unbroken when you got them?

This sounds very odd to me. Everyone I shoot with prefers swiss for being cleaner and more consistent. Even the guys I compete with who at one time were advertising/promoting goex and getting it for free would fill empty cans with swiss and shoot it in competitions.

Positive it's swiss. It's the only real BP that leaves sticky fouling at the breech. I'll take to get lot #s when I get home. It's definitely not as clean as folks like to say it is.

You got the lock paid for? I know they bill that separately, but I wouldn't think you'd miss that part.

Probably all those Hawkens going out the door gumming up the works.

Post something on the muzzleloader forum about it and I'm sure Mr Kibler himself will respond and hopefully get you fixed up. He can't let the brand name tarnish
