Tusx has released some pretty awesome new pants.
The dry seat in the pants (second link )looks pretty awesome.

This gear will be awesome for my extended New Zealand back pack hunts.

Mark.

they look remarkably like the Sitka Timberline pants - I have 3 pairs and would not be without them in ANY hunting conditions from archery to late season cow elk

GKPrice,
The Sitka timberline pants do look like a good pant, although I haven't had any experience with them.
Although they do look similar to the Tusx Schist pant, there are some differences that set them apart.

The Tusx pant has No centre seam in the dry seat meaning less wear a more functional dry seat and a longer lasting garment.

They also have removable zippered lower leg sections which convert the pant into a short, here in the south pacific we use this function a lot when back packing in to hunting area for multi day hunts, with a base layer on underneath and gaiters it affords much better movement when climbing, better ventilation and less build up of heat. Also there is less garment fabric to take on water on creek /river crossings so that leads to quicker drying times.

Mark,

Are they made of stretchy material? Also do the bottom of the legs zip off vertically so you don't have to remove your boots?

James,
The main pant material (the camouflage) has two way stretch. The CORDURA reinforcement sections have zero stretch.
There is a high vertical zipper up the outer leg to aid in boot removal.
You can see some detailed pictures if you scroll down on this link http://www.tusxhunter.com/resources/schist-convert-pant-resource-information.html

Mark, do you work for them?

No Ryan , just a friend.

I know the sacrifices made to start this company, and the hard won incite into there clothing designs that have come from over a decade of solo back pack hunting into the formidable south westland region of New Zealand.

As I am passionate about hunting this part of the world, in the same walk in walk out style as the founders of Tusx I am 100% behind their clothing as I know there not just full of marketing jargon.
They have "Been there and done that"
And designed the clothing so the rest of us can enjoy doing it to.
Kind regards
Mark.
