OnX - Apple carplay vs Android Auto

What's the consensus here within the experts? Ive had both phones but am noticing some real shortcomings using the OnX app in Andorid on my truck vs my friends with Apple. They see all the layer infos on the screen, vs me in Andorid all I get our way points, and some state land info.

Id hate to switch to apple just for a better dash hunting app experience but im considering it now that apple uses the same charger.

Just had my first experience with apple car play and OnX. It is extremely helpful while driving through checkered areas. It’s also a nightmare to get anything done. I realize that some restrictions are for safety while a vehicle is moving and that OnX may have their hands tied in some cases. This was in a Ford so maybe the auto manufacturers can dictate some things? Anyway it was a pain to zoom, change heading etc. Not having your app set to “offline only” made things worse but that’s mostly a general issue not completely involving apple play.

In the future I’m just going to mount a tablet so it functions as if you’re directly using your phone.
