Found this buck this weekend and after looking at the videos I'm not sure if he's just really old and regressed a lot or if he's just a mature buck with really bad genetics... What say you?

Sorry this last one is so short and dark... a better view of his body size.

I would say he just didn't have the genetics I agree he is mature maybe Im wrong but I just don't see that buck would be a 180" fourpoint. My impression is that he has always been somewhat at that horn configuration

Well I'm going to say a little of both. I definitely agree he's a mature buck but on the same hand I don't believe he was delt a winning hand, bad genetics. IMO this buck my put on some more mass and who knows maybe a little cheater or two some where but your probably looking at close to the best this buck is going to get. Nice video.

Great footage, is that with the viper?

I think he is old and regressed. That one ear looks pretty tore up, like he has been fighting with the big boys in the past. The antler growth hasn't been real great this year either, at least down here.

Agreed. We've had an awesome forage year up here. I really think this deer is a combination or bad genetics and age. I've seen some monster 2x2 bucks in this unit and i wouldn't be surprised if he only grew that 3rd point because of the good forage. Either way he needs to get killed ha

And yes thats the 15-45 viper65hd with a tines up adapter and cannon point n shoot camera.

Nope that's good footage. If you look at his body and his face you can see he is a mature buck. To me he is still in his prime. No "very" pronounced Roman nose. He is still a heavy bodied buck. Most bucks on the down slide have a smaller body than him and lack mass. He is just the way he is. I see him as a great buck. By no means is he a Booner, but that is a great buck to hunt unless ya gots a bigger one. He makes up in "style", what he lacks in inches. Drop the hammer on him.

Make a special load or a new rifle just for him.

I'd agree with Gondeep and firearrow
Keep scouting, if he got to his prime living there, another may have, too
