I shot this one at 510 yards and missed by four feet! Then I spent the next couple hours sneaking in closer to him. I found him right over a ridge 30 yards below me. I didn't miss him that time, but I really wished I had my bow that day!

That's what I'm talking about! 30 yards!!!!!!!!!!! Way to go!
Can any rifle guys/gals top that? I can't!

I've taken several whitetails from 25-50yds with open sighted 30-30s. I also took a caribou this year at 80 yards after a long stalk with my son.

Sneaking in to bayonet range is much more interesting to me than shooting over the county line!

I took this caribou at less than 30 yards (we never got to range him, all i know is he looked huge in my scope). we spotted him from 3/4 a mile away, then lost him in the brush. Good thing I was ready...he popped out right in front of us, and walked right to me.

Sitka blacktail at 25 yards.

Closest rifle shot at big game I've witnessed was my wife's black bear last year at 15 yards as it founded a rock on a beach right next to where we were napping.

I shot a DINK 3x4 bull at 12 yds with a 300 rum. One day to hunt and I took the first bull that I saw! Verified that he had a 5" brow tine and let it rip!

21 yds late in October on a very warm bugged filled day. It was the worst time ever butchering this guy with the nats all over me!

Can't believe I forgot that one when I posted earlier...that bear popped out from right behind a rock directly in front of us on the only part of the whole beach we couldn't see. Talk about an adrenaline rush!

No pictures since it was on a mule deer doe in Kansas but in 1999 I took one in the timber in 2 feet of snow at 7 yards. Luckily, I was using raised scope rings and was able to use my irons on that shot.

Cool shot Evan! I shot a buck (I'd already hit him once about 40 minutes before & lost him) at about 10 yards looking down the side of my barrel (WAAYYY to dark for scope). I got him!

i shot a javalina at two feet with a shot gun / dang thing almost got me

Thats awesome Robby!!!!! Its also one of the reasons that i started shooting raised rings in Kansas. Everything was getting closer and closer :) I'd like to think that I was getting better ;) BUT....my little brother keeps me honest about it :)

After putting the sneak on my first pronghorn buck at the age of 15, my dad and I crawled to the top of a small rise to find the buck only 25 yards away in the process of passing on his genes. I politely let him finish and when he dismounted I shot him straight on in the chest. To this day I swear he was smiling!
