Incase anyone is interested in the Miranda case here you go. Once again left media is blowing things up and starting fires where fires don’t exist

The ruling didn’t weaken Miranda in any form, it’s a reminder that until you are actually arrested, any info you give is of your own free will. So in casual conversation a confession is still a confession. On top of that don’t try to sue the officer you freely confessed too.

If for what ever reason you do get arrested, or for that matter, just detained, the first and only thing out of your mouth has to be, I want a lawyer. Then shut up for god sake. If you get put in a cell, talk to nobody, and I mean, nobody, except your lawyer.

Just watching local LA news. It does seem todays ruling will make for a more relaxed issuing of CC permits here in Cal. State official are not happy, but say they are going to have to see how that will be worked out. some local sheriffs say they will review the ruling and go from there, others say they will follow the ruling and start accepting more application for permits. Local gun shops say there are getting ready to start the training which will be required before application is submitted.
CA CCW permits are approved and issued by the local city police chief or, most often, the county sherrif. There are at least two counties in SoCal whose sheriffs issue regularly. Issued permits are on file with the CA DOJ.

Training is not required until an application is approved. Don't rely on the MSM for any guidance. Check your city/county website, with local gun shops, or with local certified trainers.

The cost to obtain a permit and training is a whole other debate -- many consider the fees excessive and discriminatory.

But, Cal. governor has already said Ca. will not to abide by ruling if the supreme court overturn R v W. abortion.
The ruling just sends the right to decide back to the states. Is the CA Gov not willing to abide with that ruling????? That would be odd. I would expect him to jump all over those state's rights to decide. But if he'd rather defer those to the federal level, then that's going to change a lot in CA.

Lived in NY for a long time. 2-9 months to get approved to buy a handgun (not in NYC and just to buy the gun not carry it). Some twat got the list of pistol permit holders and published a Google map with the names and addresses tagged - everyone…ex cops, current LEO, feds, domestic violence survivors…everyone. Crooks used it as a scouting tool to steal guns.

glad to be clear of that place.

Somewhat dated video, but good nonetheless

I don’t know the particulars of NY licensing, but the 6 may issue states are probably scrambling to figure out how to barely conform after Thursday’s ruling

They likely may ignore it, until they too are sued and taken to task. Like ol Governor Wallace in deseg days: you made your "law" SCOTUS, now enforce it.
Each person denied can bring a 1983 federal civil rights case against the other party. It'd get expensive really quick. They'd probably try to argue qualified immunity, but this might be a case where that wouldn't stand, or at least not for long.
1 million people a $1mil a pop should get them to comply.

Anybody want to bet that CA gets their pee pee slapped for putting Kavanaugh’s opinion in their letter/statement? His opinion means nothing. The Courts ruling is what mattered and that was written by the GOAT Thomas. It will take another lawsuit but another Justice’s opinion means as much as Breyer’s feels and statistics in his dissent. Hopefully Alito writes the court’s opinion for CA (if it comes before them) still being restrictive like he wrote his opinion for this case. He certainly wasn’t nice to Breyer or the 2 she/hers that were with him.

It's kind of comical.......the biggest "justifiable need" for a CCW permit in those states is because they had already banned "open carry". But I bet that wasn't an "approved" justifiable need according to those states. SMH

As we’ve all seen, the court can change its mind, ignoring precedent. They’ll probably overturn this and DC vs Heller at some point in the future unfortunately.

On another gun forum a resident of CA applied for a permit after the SCOTUS ruling and the state said his scheduled conference for an interview was April of 2023. Then he has to take a course and submit paperwork. So he’s looking at a 1 year wait. What was in that ruling?

I encourage everyone to look at the United States Supreme Court website and at least read the synopsis (abbreviated version) of the recent cases on gun laws, abortions, and school prayer.

Also, please read Justice Clarence Thomas’s short concurring opinion in the Dobbs abortion ruling. The man is a legal genius and constitutional scholar and severally under appreciated by Americans. Rush would have been proud, also. God bless America, TheGrayRider.
