Since y 'all got me squared away after my shooting bag question I have one more for the brain trust:
What pack is everyone using for matches?
Planning on using my MR Mule 22L pack since it is my normal hunting day pack, but I am sure that there are better options out there.

Any daypack is fine.

The gamer go-to has been the eberlestock upranger.

I'll give my 2 cents on this. I have been using my Kifaru with a 22Mag bag on it. I could go down in size to more of a backpack and am going to try a Eberlestock Freefall 2000. But I'm also a little jealous of id_jon's hip pack. I also have a Kifaru scabbard set up with a small pack that I may try out this year on the matches I drive to. But anything will work.

The specific pack you choose is less important than how you utilize it when it comes to time and efficiency.

I really like the Kifaru 357 Mag but I ripped mine and switched to my Exo K4 and it worked very well.

The pack just needs enough room for your shooting gear, snacks, water, and rain gear. Then you need to have a system that allows you to remove the tripod and shooting bag as fast as possible.

I place my tripod running up the center of the pack (bottom in the Exo rifle carrier) with the sandbag laid over it and one strap securing them both. I do the same thing hunting. Walk up to the stage, drop the rifle on the bipod, drop the pack, and unclip one buckle. Very fast, and you have everything you need.

What workflow does everybody use for engaging targets? Is it find, range and engage each target as you find it, or find them all and then come back to engage in sequence?

Find all of them, writing range+elevation on armboard as I find them, trying to landmark well also, and then engage after. I start shooting no matter what with 1 minute left, ideally I'm starting to shoot by 2 minutes.

I give myself 2 minutes to 2min 30seconds to find and range the targets. All of them. If I can’t find one start shooting. Following that I engage the targets in whatever sequence and positions.

My shooting partner has the OBI stud and hanger system, and I think I am going to go that route for carrying tripod and rifle between stages. Just wondering if there is a better pack system for me.
Thanks
