Berger VLD vs Elite Hunter – What are you guys seeing?

I've seen 2 rodeo's with the 140 hunting vld from a 6.5 cm.
70 yards, little Deer, penciled thru, 2nd shot at 10 feet, penciled thru.
375 yards in the chest, Deer trots away, 2nd shot to the chest at 400 and Deer drops. We hike down and up, Deer's gone. 30 minutes and a 1/2 mile later, 3rd shot thru his adams apple at 10 yards finishes the job.
Partner will never shoot a Berger again.

On the flip side, I've had good results with 180 vld's and 195 EOL but from a big 7's.

I bought some 140 Elite Hunters for my 6.5 creed, I'm very Berger curious. This will be the first time shooting Bergers. Went with the Elite Hunters just based on reputation for being no fuss on reloading.

Haven't actually decided if I will hunt with them or not. May also look at the 143 ELDx. Accubond long range....IDK. we will see lol.

I used the 140 vlds quiet extensively in a 6.5 prc but ended up in the 140 target hybrid and have since had far better terminal results...... for the 6.5manbun id highly recommend the 140 eldm or 130 tmk and the 130 berger otm with the only thing being as long as impact speeds over 2k. The 130 otm is a out standing bullet.

The 140 hybrid is a outstanding g bullet and far more reliable than the vld design... I use them in a 6.5 prc and a 6.5x300 wby. Had to edit post the 140 elite is a wicked bullet as well

Both will work i assume the 143 eldx? Its a solid bullet iv witness fired shooting moose ,elk and deer with rhat bull in the 6.5 creedmore it works. The 140 eldm is even better and the 147 also solid. If I were to use a 6.5 creedmore id most likly use 130 tmk or 140 eldm. The 130 tmk is a nasty little bullet. Absolutely hammers elk.

The 6.5mm 140 EHs kill very well.

Here is my exit wound from a 168 VLD from last antelope season. 435 yards, 2350 impact velocity. Fantastic terminal results and pinpoint accurate. The paper grouping image is our box ammo Trophy Gold 6.5PRC 140 VLD. Some very nice three shot groups on there.

We have been loading this bullet in the Trophy Gold product line for years and have had tremendous results, but are looking to expand the product line with Trophy Gold Elite (featuring the Berger elite hunter) in the near future. Glad to hear there is a fair amount of positive results with the Elite Hunters and will certainly be keeping you all up to date with when we start rolling those out into production! 108 Elite Hunters are some deadly little things. I’ve had a poor experience with the 115 VLDH though.

The 140EH has worked great for me on antelope and mule deer.

I run the 195 elite hunters out of 2 different 28 noslers. They where extremely easy to tune and they perform very well. Have multiple deer and 2 elk with them so far and nothing has taken more than 3 steps after being hit with them.
