Looking for options of a boot that’s non insulated or low insulation (2-400gram) for every day hunting. Can be hiking style vs a true “hunting boot”. Looking for something that comfortable and waterproof. Outside of that I’m pretty open for whatever

I picked up uninsulated Kenetrek Desert Guide. They aren’t waterproof, but I keep them waxed up with beeswax. They have done great in the wet/snowy Tennessee hills the last two weeks.

I looked at the other hiking/hunting Kenetrek’s that were lighter and waterproof, like Bridger and Corrie II, but went with all leather because of the pokey things in the desert.

Those two have good reviews and I may still get some Bridgers eventually.

I like the Schnee's Beartooth for an all around "Mountain" boot. Available in 0g, 200g, and 400g. For an all around uninsulated boot not used on steep slopes, I choose the Danner Grouse boot.

It's hard to beat a 7" leather boot for all-around mountain use and waterproofness. Take your pick between which brand fits your foot the best.

Crispi Nevada
Schnees Beartooth
Kenetrek Hardscrabble

They'll be heavier and a little hotter than a true hiking boot for summer use, but they will actually be waterproof.
