Looking to see what people suggest for a good hunting boot, there’s so many available that I wanted to see what people who’ve used them have to say. I live in Texas so I’m not too concerned with insulated boots but I do hike around a bit so rubber boots are out, also looking for something waterproof and preferably under $200.

When I look for a new boot I let my feet tell me what's good and what isn't. I wouldn't base it off what other people's feet like. Find a store near by that carries a variety to try on or oder some and return what you dont like.

Be more specific about what your intended use is as well. Hunting and hiking is pretty broad. A boot I wear around home for hunting is very different than a boot I would use for an elk hunt.

Use the search function as well to find reviews and feedback on many different boots to help get an idea of what brands, styles best match your needs.

I have had decent luck with both Merrell and Keen. I guess I consider these on the lower budget side of hiking boots. Crispi, Kenetrek, Lowa to name a few are higher priced but possibly better quality. As GrayGoose suggested you really have to let your feet tell you what is best. I have purchased some very expensive boots and what felt like a good fit at first after some miles my feet told me you wasted your money.

IMO, there are sooo many varieties at that price point. Irish, Danner, and Keen, red wing to name a few. I prefer Irish in that price range, but I'd just go hit up scheels or whatever sporting good store you have and find something comfortable.

Crispi Nevadas were to stiff and heavy for me.
Crispi Laponias are exactly what I like in a boot. 3 fall and 2 spring seasons so far. probably 600 miles between hunts and hikes.
I know $350 is higher than quoted but worth it in my opinion.

I have found that Lowa Renegades are hard to beat for an all around boot, light Gore-tex, vibram sole and super easy on and off
