I started shooting in 2018 with a Nock On Silverback. Added a pouch and a Nock 2 It in 2020 and have been shooting both since. Still the only releases I have ever shot.

Want to try a hinge and was going to keep it in the Nock On family with the 2 Smooth, but reading here has me thinking I should get an UltraView 2.0 instead.

I have a try before you buy coming in the mail but was hoping to get any insight or advice.

Thanks!

The UV line of releases will have a longer neck than Carter / Nock On releases. So this is going to change your anchor slightly.

I usually shoot with a wise choice four finger which is the same as the Nock 2 it only with less finger positions. Occasionally I will shoot a UV Hinge gen 1, and noticed the impact point will change latterly an inch or so depending on the range compared to where I usually impact.

Buy a used Stan with the trainer pin that locks the head. Practice with that and see if a hinge is for you, sell again if it isn’t.
Nothing but releases Facebook group.

I’d stick with the nock on stuff unless you want to mess with your anchor or DL etc.
When I switched to a nock 2 it, I ended up adding a 1/2” to my draw length because of how much shorter it is compared to other releases

I prefer Carter to UV, I’ve tried a lot of releases through the years and always come back to Carter. Switched to the nock on stuff a couple years ago due to nerve issues in my hand and have been very happy and don’t think I’ll change anytime soon.

I started with a nock2 it 8 years ago and then at some point added the silverback. This past winter I wanted to try a hinge for the first time. For what ever reason I decided to try ones outside of the nock on line. After buying and selling two releases I wound up getting the 2smooth and wish I had just gone that way from the start. Being so used to the nock2 it made the 2smooth immediately feel like the right one. The other releases I tried my anchor had to be way different because of their shape and neck length. The 2smooth jaw doesn't line up perfectly with the nock2it so my anchor has to move a tiny bit to keep the nock2it as my primary release but it is close enough its not an issue and I can still shoot the 2smooth well. Id also recommend looking for used on here or archery talk. I got a killer deal on my 2smooth going used.

Thanks for all the feedback! I picked up a 2Smooth from the forums here and it immediately felt comfortable. Now I just need to get the click and release dialed in!

You won’t regret your decision, carter makes a fantastic product. The neck length on the UV would create more issues for you considering you’re already shooting a bunch of carters with the same design.
