Can’t beat a Thor (Barnes) for reliable terminal performance. Depends on how far youre shootings though I suppose. A 460-600 gr NE would pack one hell of a punch. Why are you thinking of changing?

I dont have either. I sized with the thor but havnt went any further. Leaning towards them but heard good things about the excuses and I much prefer lead plus they are cheaper. But, think I will stick with the thors

I’m shooting 250 grain Thor ballistic tips out of my Accura MRX, with 77 grains of BH209 (weight) I group within an inch at 200 yards. I’m not sure what my velocity is.

Good choice. And, IMO, the 297/300 gr are the way to go. The 250s are way to light for elk.

I shoot 300gr Thor over 120gr BH 209 out of a Copper 22 ML. 1" to 1.5" 150yd groups consistently. It's my elk setup but has been poison to whitetails and bear in VA last 2 years.
