NL Pure 12’s or 14’s

I like the 14x NL as a complement to a 10x best.

The 12x NL is a better compromise for general use than the 14x NL, although I prefer a 10x even more for general use. This is likely because I spend more time with my binocular handheld than not.

For the poster that wanted a 95% tripod 5% handheld binocular the 14x NL is the way to go. It is definitely good enough in the hand for 5% use.

I have the 10slc and went with the nl 8s to reduce the perceived shake. I went back and forth between the 12s and 14s but in the end decided on the 14s since they would be on a
tripod and the 8s for off hand. I suspect I will switch between the 8s and 14s during a glassing session on the tripod. 8s for broad view for movement then the 14s to pick an area apart.

So I splurged a couple weeks ago and got the 14’s. I didn’t want to like them as much as I did. They’re absolutely incredible and I am questioning how I ever did it before. This opinion is coming from having a pair of 10x50 el’s on my chest. The forehead rest on the 14 is pretty cool too and I have been able to hand hold them for short periods of time. Color is incredible, edge to edge is incredible, field of view is incredible.

I can’t speak for the 12’s but I’m beginning to wonder if a 8x42 and 14’s are the absolute way to go like so many on this website suggest.
