They can use them, but you must be present.

Kids under 18 can’t be on the trust. So really only difference is your wife can shoot it or possess it without you present.

Downside is she has to do fingerprints too. But apparently they are doing away with that for trusts.

Today is day 41 for me. I didn’t know what I didn’t know when I ordered I guess, but if I could do it again I wouldn’t have done the trust.

Kids under 18 can’t be on the trust. So really only difference is your wife can shoot it or possess it without you present.

Downside is she has to do fingerprints too. But apparently they are doing away with that for trusts.

I think they might have already done away with the secondary fingerprint requirements, or my dealer was misinformed because he told me I could add people once it’s approved without them having to do fingerprints.

The trust was the only option for me so my family members could use the rifles while hunting. I have one that’s at 28 days and one that’s about 11. I don’t understand why the process takes so much longer on these trusts than individual since when a person applys as a trust there is still only 1 name on the paperwork.
If I have to wait as long as you have I’m not going to have time to sight the rifles in with their suppressors before hunting season which is disappointing.

Yeah I hear you. The ATF estimated wait time when I submitted was 25 days, dealer told me they were averaging 20-25 on a trust around then. Now I’m seeing lots of other guys in the 40s. Called my SOT yesterday just to make sure it hadn’t gotten approved without an email, and the guy told me they’re closer to 40 days on most of their recent ones. Doesn’t make any sense to me either.

Once you get approved individual you can transfer one or all individual nfa items into the trust. That way you have possession of the can quicker and can still use it under the individual terms while waiting for it to be transferred to the trust.

Been kicking around the idea of a Rok22 and that is exactly what I was planning on as far as worrying about the trust later. At this point another one as an individual might get approved before my current one with a single shot trust.
