NFA Approval after January 1

Because it’s taking longer. Wait times for individual without a trust are quicker. Difference is 10-14 days
It’s all relative, I’m not waiting 3-12 months like in the past. But I’m still anxious to get it in my hands and get using it!

I’m not sure your numbers are accurate. First and foremost, the ATF folks have no rhyme or reason as to why application A is approved in 1.5 days and application B takes 30 days. Plenty of folks see trust approvals happen in 1-3 days, also longer of course.

I would speculate that a lot just depends on the efficiency of the ATF person that gets assigned any given form 4.

I bought 4 in Nov/Dec thinking I was getting ahead of the curve. Now after hearing how fast these things are getting approved.. wish I had waited and saved the stamp money. I assumed wait times would be forever, now not the case. At least things are moving in a positive direction!

I did an eform 4 last week, submitted 9 pm on a Wednesday, by Thursday morning it was approved.

Trust to ffl-sot transfer. Amazing turn around time and incredibly simple to DIY online.

Used it to finally move a suppressor I wasn’t using often.

Used peer to peer sales are not quite that simple, you’re on your own in instruction, but are officially doable.

I have a question since this is my first ATF eform application. Once everything is e-signed and "certified" (now my understanding is that I am just waiting on ATF approval) does ANYTHING about the current submittal or process show up when you login to your atf eforms account?

No. Only the submitter (your dealer) can see the application status.

SS Form 4 Trust. Submitted 2/4 and approved on 3/2 (26 days total). Not bad at all and worth it to save $200 (especially on a 22 can like this was for)

Update! My B&T TiGer 22 was submitted individual on 2/14 & approved on 2/17 - So Three days. Evidently neither I nor the dealer received an email. After several calls, they checked through their E-Forms portal and found the approval there. Glad for the quick approval...a bit bummed it took me three weeks to learn about it.

I wouldn't count on it, I have 10 or 12 cans, got 3 last year, including one in November, those took 1-7 days. I have gotten two F1s approved this year, one was around a week and the other just got approved a few days ago at 42 days. Currently waiting on an F4 from 2/7/26. There's no fast lane for folks already in the system, it's just a toss up.
My second F4 took longer than my first. This was at the beginning of the year and both were approved within a week.

Purchased AB A-10 from silencer shop 1/26/26 (my very first can and in a single shot trust) All applicable information filled out and SS kiosk finger print at local dealer between 1/26-1/28

eForm4 submitted with local dealer 2/17/26

eForm4 approval and pick up from dealer 3/10/26

Given that individuals are now going substantially faster than trusts, I'll probably do my next one as an individual.
Do you have any source showing trusts are substantially slower? I haven’t found one yet, but this is the second time it’s been mentioned here.

What kind of source are you looking for? Go check out the tracking thread at r/NFA and see if you see a pattern. From what I've been seeing there is a pretty clear pattern, individual F4s coming in at a week or under, and trusts, even 1 RP coming in at a month +-.

The F4 I got back on a trust last week went about a month, up from a week for the one before in November and two days and 29hrs respectively for the two I did early last year.

Do what you want, but the pattern looks real enough for me to put my next one in as an individual. A month isn't too bad in the grand scheme of things, but with $0 transfers I'd rather wait a month with it in hand than a month to get it in hand.
