I know there was a lot of speculation with extended wait times being possible due to a surge of applications on Jan 1. My application was submitted after hours on the 1st, and approved this morning.

While I wish suppressors weren’t NFA regulated anymore, it’s a breathe of fresh air to see the speed of approvals continue to be reasonable.

mine hasnt been approved yet, but lgs said some were approved. not sure if he was talking about his customers or just in general.

I’m still waiting on approval for a Form 4 submitted on December 13, 2025.
I’m guessing these types of results are due to government employee efficiency. I e heard in the past that the NFA apps were assigned to employees as soon as they were submitted. Meaning if employee A takes 12 smoke breaks a day and averages 2 approvals a days, employee A will develop a significant backlog. If employee B works “diligently” throughout the day and averages 5 approvals a day, employee B is able to avoid a backlog and get approvals done same day or next day.

Just a theory 🤷🏻‍♂️

…or you’re on a terrorist watch list 🤣

I’ve heard it actually takes longer if you’ve ever held a high security clearance.

I went in yesterday to get the paperwork certified on two rimfire suppressors waiting at my LGS. The ATF/Silencer Shop portal was jammed up with traffic, and I couldn't get the process completed yesterday. I'll have to try again on Monday.

That’s a bummer. Hopefully that doesn’t become a common problem over the next few months.

Heck, I dont even have a gun to put it on yet cause I thought it would take months. lol

I went through the certification process, again, this evening and everything was submitted quickly and without issue. Now the wait begins, but I'm hopeful that it won't be too bad. Fingers crossed!
