Flying to Alaska on August 7th for the dall opener! First time for me and I am excited!

I have, but not this trip.

Where do you live? Lots of southern spots you can day trip from the truck, or do 1 or two night stints. Ive done many of those solo.

I took my first ram on the opener back in 2019. It was my third trip for Dall out by Healy. Floated the Wood River the day beforehand and saw a 100% mature ram from the water and made a plan for him. Camped at the base of the mountain night before and a quick two hour hike upwards we got a downward shot on him. Sheep tenderloin for lunch. Got weathered out 7 out of 10 days in 2017 and experienced the hurricane 100 mph gusts that everyone probably remembers in 2018. 3rd time really is the charm!
