Newfoundland Ticks and Mosquitoes??

Will be headed up there in September mid month. How are they up there? Should I think about taking a Thermacell? does anyone else spray their clothes with permethrin?

I was there the year before last in middle of September and didn’t have problems with either. I don’t recall any mosquitoes bothering me. I didn’t take a thermacell or use permethrin.

I have been there mid September for Caribou and didn't see any ticks and just a few flying bugs, not enough to use the deet I had with me.

3rd week of September 2021 I don't remember any bug issues. Interesting fact they only have a few animals on the island. No rodents like mice our guide told us.

That's crazy! I figure that mice and rats would have came long ago on sailing ships
