Hi, all,
My name is Stuart. i recently came across this website. My nephew just got a Christensen Arms Ridgeline FFT chambered in 280AI. he needs a scope for this rifle and i would like to help him. He hunts in B.C near Squamish/Pemberton/Lillioet/ and the Interior around. Kamloops and to 100 mile house. He hunts in rugged terrain. i would like to get him a scope that is robust and will take the terrain movement. Since it is a lightweight rifle i was thinking of Hawkins featherweight mounts. is this a good idea. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Look at the Nightforce NX8 line, though not super light weight scope, very good and durable scope.

for durable scopes, the list is basically SWFA (perpetual backorder), trijicon, nightforce, Maven RS1.2, then S&B. picatinny rails bonded onto the action, and a quality picatinny ring are typically the most robust mounting setup. helpful links:

Guess you can tell right away, “light” and “durable” are hard to find adjectives for the same scope.

If he wants Euro glass this is what i would look at.... Big fan of Zeiss in rifle scopes and use V8 and V6.

Zeiss V6 2.5-15x56 or 3-18x50
Swarovski Z6i 2.5-15x56 or 3-18x50
Leica Amplus 6 2.5-15x56 or 3-18x44
Kahles Helia 2.4-12x56
Docter V6 2.5-15x56

If money is not an issue Zeiss v8 2.8-20x56 or Swarovski Z8i 2.3-18x56 , 3.5-28x50 - these are not lightest out there but are ducks nuts.

You also have SCHMIDT & BENDER EXOS 3-21X50 , SCHMIDT & BENDER STRATOS 2.5-13X56.

If on a budget Zeiss V4 , Meopta Optika 6 , Minox 3-15x56 , Docter Sport 4.5-14x40, GPO Spectra 5x 3-15x56i.

he has a tract toric scope and picatinny rail and horizontal split rings i have no idea the brand though. he wants to upgrade without adding a lot of weight. hope that makes sense.

can't get that model tenmile in Canada that i have seen advertized. leaning towards the rs1.2 2.5-15 x 44 bundle. is the schmidt and bender meta riflescope 3-18 x 42 that much better that it justifies the difference in price?
