New world record archery bull

Maybe we should all say how much money we each have and then use that number to tell if someone is a good hunter. We can post how many elk we've killed, scores and methods. Seems like a focus of so many here.

I don't get the hate I guess.. if he had shot a 350" bull with that tag nobody would be talking about it. Nobody would care if he bought ALL the tickets, nobody would care that he killed him over bait yatayata.
Would everybody else in his situation actually just fade back to the public ground and shoot a little 5 point when this buck got pushed to private ground?? I sure wouldn't have and havent in the past I'll go knock on every door I can.
And you gotta admitt that sitting on one little 40 acre block over bait that had just been put there two days before, in the last two days of season, on a tag like that, was a very ballsy move, not to mention bit of a low odds play really.
Also he said that he had been intentionally chasing the world record for quite a while so of course there is gonna be euphoria when you actually get it.
Honestly he persevered in about every way possible to get to his goal from spending the money and time to hunting the bull wherever he went. I don't really like the idea of buying animals but we could have all been putting in that raffle as well, and we all buy animals to some extent. Just think what it would be like if we all hunting with $100 longbows and $30 dollar arrows, no rangefinder, no binos ect. We all spend money to try to be more successful and reach out goals..

"The whale only gets harpooned when he spouts"

There's a lot of independently wealthy people whose interests (and everyone else) would be far better served never publicizing shooting big animals and how much they paid for it. There are more people that operate this way than don't, I can't imagine having generational wealth and still feel the need to be on a pro staff and the headache that comes with it.

The only reason this one is out there is because its the WR.

And because that bull would eat out of a grain bucket..
Yeah there’s no pictures to back that up, yes it was killed over bait but there’s a pile of bait sites all over that area to put out by shed hunters and people trying to keep bulls from getting whacked by the nearly constant tribal hunting pressure.

If talking shit somehow allows you to ignore some of your own inadequacies, by all means keep it up.

So was it an elusive backcountry monarch, or was it a resident welfare recipient that hit backyard food caches? I'm local and know people that were involved in certain circumstances through the grapevine, but by all means as a non resident, feel free to clear it up for me.

I spent 2 hours on the phone with Casey and the guy who picked up his sheds last year on public. He baited the bull 45 days on public waiting for him to drop.

It’s pretty bazar for being a neighborhood celebrity, that so few pictures were taken for a 440 bull last year and 490 bull this year. Even after it died, social media has 3 or 4 that had houses in them, all of which aligned with the time frame that the bull was ran off by a cougar.

One picture got out last year, which brought Carceti (sp) and the other gov tag in looking for it as well. If everyone knew where it was at and he was offering an 80K finders fee, seems odd that they wouldn’t have found it because last time I checked, 80k isn’t pocket change.

If that bull was so well known and so many pictures of it out there, every major hitter in the gov tag game would have been there. A live picture of 440+ bull on the open market would have pushed the gov tag over 400K easy, possibly more.

But hey, it went to every kids birthday party, bat mitzfah, and just retired from the pulling Santa’s sleigh.

Where do you want to start ? That bull ran state Land all summer skirting in and out of private. Was that state land landlocked by private highly possible. Did that bull come into residential/lowlands area in the winter yes as does the majority of the elk in kittitas county.

One good thing the state of Washington is looking at banning all baiting due to CWD.

It’s not just CWD, it’s EHD as well. Are they going to ban all of the feeding stations that aren’t hunting related as well? Just because that could be pretty bad for the big bulls living in the area.

From what I can find it just seems to be the local aspect of baiting not to include feeding station at this time. But I still think it up in the air. Im curious what will be done with all the haystacks in the valley. I usually have anywhere from 15-30 deer and 75 plus turkeys throughout the winter raiding a little Alf Alfa.

The internet wasn't invented 6 months ago. That bull would've been out there in exactly the same manner had it been a world record or 20 inches short. Casey and his son both have well established social media profiles.

Well, I guess we wouldn't have known about the weird permission/non-permission for private land access if it weren't a world record.

No it wouldn’t, because I know there’s a couple rather large bulls (over 400) that haven’t seen the light of the internet.

Beau has a social media presence, Casey posts infrequently at best and not many kills over the last few years.

Thank you Mr. Casey Brooks Internet Protection Squad. I hope you also got a replica set of sheds for defending his honor online.

Stop making up shit about a guy I’ve known for 20+ years, and I’ll stop responding.
