I wouldn’t go bragging about it being a world class bull or a ton of effort, though.
That’s assuming he didn’t hunt at all until it hit its private wintering grounds. I highly doubt Casey Brooks didn’t hunt that bull during the time it spent in the woods on public.

Who has said how many of his bulls came from rez hunts? I think the majority of his kills are off rez bulls. He’s no dummy and doesn’t need a guide to handhold him to kill bulls. His reputation as an elk hunter with good to great abilities has been around for a long time.

I’m not trying to condone what may have happened on this particular hunt or what the guy might have done but the internet just loves to go to town with speculation before all facts are in.
15 bulls over 400” is all I needed to hear to know this guy puts his money where his passion is. Im confident hes a good guy and a solid elk hunter.

For sure, does anyone know where his money came from? Not a gotcha type thing, I’m just genuinely curious

I’m not saying he didn’t put a ton of effort on public land to get it. But ultimately, he didn’t get it on public land — so that effort was fruitless, right?

Ultimately, it appears it was killed on private land on bait as a neighborhood elk. So I’m just not that impressed.

@WRO — do you know the guy? It seems like you’re defending him quite passionately. So I’m just curious.

FWIW, I think it’s a dandy bull and would gladly kill in my neighborhood. I wouldn’t go bragging about it being a world class bull or a ton of effort, though.

Also I echo that a trust fund dude killing 80+ bulls (with lots >400”) doesn’t tickle my fancy much.

I do, he’s always been good to me and those around me.

He lives to hunt and shares very little because of shit like this. He’s a a general rule very helpful to those around him and his fellow hunters.

Guys got the resources to do what ever he wants, he chose archery hunting.

He lives in the town where I graduated high school.

I have to wonder if the shooter's goofy haired kid took it upon himself to post this publicly for his own following.

It was probably a bit of a "facepalm" moment.
I don’t know, if the guy wasn’t planning to put anything out there or look for any kind of publicity, why the song and dance of hauling the old sheds out there to take pictures with? I mean it’s a cool visual for sure, but people don’t keep photo albums anymore right? Where was that picture meant to go?

Totally agree, but where are all the pics floating around social media? Look at any “influencer” or wannabe hunter the last 15 years, they kill a raghorn and it’s posted all over the place. This guy has that many kills of huge bulls and his name is relatively unknown?

I don’t know him, but if I’d killed as many big bulls as he has I wouldn’t want a social media following either. I think I’d rather chit it my hand and rub it in my hair than be hunting social media influencer
