Just seen this pop up weatherby new model supposed to be 4lbs in the 17” barrel short action.

The recoil on that won’t be much fun. I had the kimber that is 6.5#s and it’s spicy. Drop another pound off that, and it’s real spicy.Wish they chambered the SA in 7mm08.
But the LA 280AI at 4.4# with a 21" barrel is pretty sweet specs if it shoots and handles well.
because 20 miles carrying a 8lb rifle sucks...and i can shoot my ultralight set up...Why in the world do we need a 4lb rifle again? Oh, because of gram counting sheep hunters. Oh wait, let’s take a light and hard-to-shoot at distance rifle on a once in a lifetime hunt that costs thousands because we can’t carry in a proper setup.![]()
Four pounds would be nice in an ARC or a GT.

I’ll be honest. I haven’t done 20 miles in a single day. I have done 10 tho. Can’t say my 8lb rifle bothered me at all.because 20 miles carrying a 8lb rifle sucks...and i can shoot my ultralight set up...
