kicking around the idea of building a custom 6.5 PRC, not looking for the cheapest, also wouldn’t mind saving a buck or 2 on the action. If it’s worth it.

Has anyone had personal experience buying Weatherby’s 307 Builder’s Action? I like the pitch of it being compatible with Remington 700 parts and having a tooless takedown bolt. Outside of that, just started looking into them. Feedback welcome!

I have built several cartridges with this receiver, 1 Remage 28 nosler, 2 Remage 308 Win a 16” and 12” barrel , 1 CarbonSix 260 REM and 1 CarbonSix 25 CM. They all shot and worked great except the 25 CM, for some reason it didn’t want to eject a spent case without force. It is now back at CarbonSix, with that said it shot great and has a fast barrel. I did reach out to Weatherby support to see if they had any complaints with their 25 CM builds they said they had not. I’m thinking it has something to do with the case design of the 25 CM. I have 2 more builds in the works a 7 SAUM and 243 Win. barrels will be from OMR. I’ll give you an update on the 25 CM when CarbonSix gets back with me. I forgot to add I have a 6.5 RPM in the 307 also it works and shoots great not for sure who makes Weatherby Carbon barrel they look similar to Christensen.

Sounds like a bunch of winners, thank you fo the feedback! 👍🏼

I have chambered a handful of barrels for them, and done four complete builds with the 307. I will say they are decent, however the four I did complete builds on were tuned up so to speak, particularly in the ignition components. Best I recall, I have done them in all the Creed cartridges, with a 22-250 and a 308 in the mix.

Also, I have not seen any issues with any of the 25 Creeds I have done. I have one personally I use shooting max handloads, and there are no issues ejecting. The case design if fine, its like its brothers, and is definitely my favorite of the four.

Wasn’t insinuating that it was anything wrong with the cartridge design specifically. “God Forbid Anyone says anything bad about a creedmoor on here”. I was insinuating that trying to gently eject a spent cartridge while shooting on a bench it hangs up about 3/4” from ejection window, full cartridge ejection is fine and no other issues with any of the others cartridges I mentioned. With that said, if I work it like I stole it works great throws empty case 10 feet. I don’t like chasing brass down when I’m shooting off a bench. For this reason I sent it back to CarbonSix to take a look at it. For the money I don’t think you can buy a better builder’s action.

Really cool, thank you for the feedback, sounds like you did a ton of work getting your rifles tuned up, I’ll bet they are sweet shooters! 👍🏼
