New Vortex Talon 10k RF Binos

The 10x42 razor UHD are 32 ounces with no batteries or rangefinder tech so if they used that platform (which they are just as big so I can believe it) adding 8 ounces for batteries and an LRF is somewhat believable, not that it is good or acceptable.

I won’t write them off completely just off of listed weight. There are a couple others that are right in there give or take a few ounces.

I’m interested in how the glass looks in person. I know there’s a little movie magic in the initial reviews of everything but it looks really really good.

I’m a fury user now. I don’t hate the glass but i am also not an alpha glass owner/user so i dont know what i don’t know. I would be tempted to go up to nicer glass but the price tag means i probably wont until they hit the used market for 12-1500.

I was lucky enough to try the Talon 10x42 back in the spring. I’m not a glass snob, so I’m sure someone will care way more than me about some tiny or hard to define image detail….but comparing these to my Leica Geovid Pros, the glass was better, with the rangefinder function being a big step up. I can’t think of a situation that I would feel handicapped in the field with these. I’m sure if I was a mountain hunter trying to count tiines at 6000 yards there would be an upside in a non LRF optic, but for a normal hunter who wants great glass with a top tier ballistic rangefinder, these compare really well with all the top tier models.
I don’t love how everyone pumps the vortex warranty as Thor only selling feature….but it is reassuring knowing that the company would stand behind it if I ever dropped them or they were damaged. You can’t say that for most other brands.

I don't have LRF bino's yet but intend to get some this year. I'm also not a glass snob (currently) and only have the Viper HD's 12x42s to compare anything to (have had them for years before diving into the RS community).

Based off of Primal Rights vid (only legit review so far that I've found), and the speed at which these are generating distances, they seem like a great first entry into the space compared to the Revics (only other pair I was currently eyeing).

Will continue to research over the next couple months ahead of this Falls purchasing.
